Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Deckades (the iOS app and the deckades.app website) collects, why, and your rights. Deckades is operated by Lukas Schneider as an individual developer. Contact: support@lupreme.com.

What we collect

Deckades does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email, or any identifying information to play.

• Anonymous analytics: basic usage events (screens viewed, games played, errors) tied to a randomly generated device identifier. No name, email, or precise location.
• Game progress: your stars, streaks, and game history are stored locally on your device. We do not back these up to our servers.
• Custom decks you share: if you create a custom deck and share it via a share code, the deck title and cards are stored on our server, keyed by the random share code. Anyone with the code can fetch the deck.
• Server logs: when your app contacts our API (for the daily puzzle, content sync, or share codes), our server may briefly log your IP address for abuse prevention. These logs are rotated and not used to build a profile.

Third-party services

• PostHog (EU host eu.i.posthog.com): product analytics. Receives the anonymous device ID and event metadata. Data is processed in the EU. See PostHog's privacy policy.
• Apple Game Center: if you sign in, your Game Center alias and scores are visible on leaderboards. This data flow is governed by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Local notifications: daily reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS. We do not store push tokens on our servers and we do not send remote push notifications.

How we use the data

• To run the game (daily puzzles, content sync, share-code lookup).
• To understand which features people use and to fix bugs.
• To prevent abuse of the share-code and sync APIs.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because Deckades does not require an account, the only data tied to you is:

• Anonymous analytics events keyed to a random device ID - uninstalling the app stops further collection. Because the ID is not exposed to you and is not linked to identifying information, individual past events can't be looked up after the fact; email us if you have questions.
• Custom decks you uploaded via share codes - email us the share code and we'll remove it.

Children

Deckades is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require an account and the analytics we collect are anonymous.

Data retention

Anonymous analytics events are retained for up to 12 months. Shared custom decks are retained until the creator requests deletion. Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
