Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Deckades, an iOS game and accompanying website operated by Lukas Schneider ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Deckades on devices you own or control, for non-commercial personal use, subject to these terms and the Apple Standard EULA.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except as permitted by law.
• Use the app or our APIs to harass, defraud, or harm others.
• Submit content (custom deck titles, card text) that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to disrupt the service, evade rate limits, or scrape our content.

Custom decks and shared content

Deckades lets you create custom decks and share them with others via short share codes. By submitting a custom deck:

• You confirm you have the right to use the content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
• You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and distribute the deck so anyone with the share code can play it.
• You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content. We are not.
• We may remove any shared deck at our discretion, including for violations of these terms or in response to a valid takedown request.

Game Center and leaderboards

Game Center features are provided by Apple. Your alias, scores, and achievements visible on leaderboards are governed by Apple's terms. We do not control Game Center.

Intellectual property

The app, its code, design, deck library curated by us, and the "Deckades" name and marks are owned by Lukas Schneider and protected by applicable laws. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to our trademarks.

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that historical content is fully accurate - Deckades is a game, not a reference.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free app, is zero).

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access to our services if you violate these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. To the extent permitted by law, courts located in Germany have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms.
